Privacy Policy for Docketizer
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Astrial Realty, LLC dba Astrial Foundry ("Astrial Foundry") and we, including but not limited to the developer, owner, licensors, partners, distributors, affiliates, and operators of the Docketizer application ("App") and the Docketizer.com website and licensing service, collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you access, use, or interact with the App. This policy applies to all users of Docketizer, regardless of distribution channel. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms, you must not access or use the App.
2. What We Collect
We collect only what is needed to run your account and enforce licensing:
- Email address, used as your account identifier and for sign-in codes, receipts, and service notices
- Account and session information: a device name you or your device supplies, platform and operating system version, App version, the IP address and time of each sign-in and license check, and session identifiers
- Trial and licensing data, including timestamps, entitlement status, and the subscription or transaction identifiers that Apple, Google, or Lemon Squeezy assign to your purchase
- Purchase information passed to us by the store or payment processor you bought through (plan, dates, status). We never receive your card number.
- For firm licenses, the email addresses the firm's administrator assigns to seats
- Support correspondence you send us
- Server logs that record requests to our licensing service for security and debugging
We do not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, usage profiles, location, contacts, or any content of the court records you download.
3. Information That Stays on Your Device
Case numbers you enter, the court records the App downloads, the folders and manifests it writes, your saved cases list, settings, and the App's log file are stored only on your device or in folders you choose, and are never sent to us. When you look up or download a case, the App sends the case number and document requests to the website of the court you selected, in the same way your browser would; that court's own privacy policy and notices govern those requests. The App also contacts our licensing service (section 2) and, for versions downloaded from Docketizer.com, our update feed, which receives your App version and platform.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the information collected for purposes including, but not limited to:
- Providing and managing the functionality of the App and your account
- Enforcing trial, licensing, seat, or subscription terms and limiting the number of signed-in devices
- Sending sign-in codes, firm invitations, receipts, trial-ending and payment notices
- Responding to inquiries or providing customer support
- Detecting unauthorized use, fraud, or reverse engineering
- Complying with legal obligations or law enforcement requests
- Any other purpose reasonably related to the development, protection, or operation of the App
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or behavioral analysis, and we do not sell or rent it.
5. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR, EU/EEA)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, we process your personal data based on one or more of the following legal grounds under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
- Consent (when you explicitly provide it)
- Performance of a contract (e.g., account, licensing and trial enforcement)
- Compliance with a legal obligation
- Legitimate interests, such as security, fraud prevention, and app improvement
6. Data Retention
Sign-in codes expire within minutes and are deleted after use. Sessions are deleted when you sign out, when they are revoked, or after twelve (12) months of inactivity. Server logs are kept for ninety (90) days. Account, subscription, seat and grant records are kept while your account exists; when you delete your account in the App, we remove your email address and sessions within thirty (30) days and keep only the purchase and audit records required for accounting, tax, and fraud prevention, for as long as the law requires.
7. Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose your personal information to the following parties:
- Vendors and service providers that perform functions on our behalf, limited to: Apple and Google (store purchases and subscription status), Lemon Squeezy, a Stripe company (checkout, billing and tax for purchases on Docketizer.com), our transactional email provider (sign-in codes and notices), and our hosting provider
- Legal and regulatory authorities, to comply with applicable laws or investigations
- Third parties in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
- Other parties with your consent, or when reasonably necessary for our business operations
We do not disclose your information to advertising networks, analytics platforms, or data brokers.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Under the GDPR (EU/EEA residents) you may have the following rights:
- Access your personal data
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion ("Right to be Forgotten")
- Restrict or object to processing
- Request data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (where processing is based on consent)
Under the CCPA (California residents) you may have the following rights:

9. Children's Privacy
The App is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information, please contact us immediately. We will promptly delete such data.
10. Data Security
We implement industry-standard measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These include, but are not limited to, encrypted connections to our services, cryptographic signatures on license data to detect tampering, and code-signing for distribution integrity. 12. Updates to This Privacy Policy
